Core Combination

Ballet/Tap or Ballet/Tap/Jazz combination classes. Learn terminology and proper technique for these respective core dance styles.

Ballet Tech

Ballet is the core of all dance styles. Course set specifically to improve on ballet technique. Sharpen your posture, frame, hold, leg and hip actions, hands, feet and body position in this class. Perfect for anyone who loves ballet or is looking to go the extra mile.

Hip Hop

This class teaches rhythm, musicality, coordination and modern hip hop technique. This is an excellent class for high energy dancers who want to take a fun dance class. Recommended for Kindergarten - 12th Grade.

Leaps & Turns

Proper technique for leaps, turns and tricks will help any dancer improve their overall skill set. Perfect course for anyone looking to audition for a dance team or simply take their skills to the next level.

Tumbling

Tumbling 3

Upon entering this class, dancers and/or tumblers should have the fundamental elements learned in Tumbling 2. Dancers will begin adding on to these core elements. They will learn back walkovers, back limbers, front limbers, front walkovers, round-offs, etc!

Tumbling 4

Dancers will be building off of their skills learned in Tumbling 3 where they will zone in on their technique of fluidity of each element. They will begin working drills for one-handed front walkovers, back limbers, front limbers, front walkovers, round-offs, etc!

Strength & Stretch

Developed to improve flexibility and strength in dancers. Flexibility is essential for all dancers but, it is important that dancers develop the strength to manage this flexibility to prevent injuries. The combination for strength and stretch in this class will help prepare the dancer's body for the demands of their technical classes.

Pom

Currently offered at our Ankeny Studio

Learn fundamentals such as basic cheer motions/technique, pom skills/technique, body position, jumps, stunting, chanting, and more in this fun class. All designed to help your child become a well-rounded technically advanced cheerleader or pom squad member! This is a perfect class for anyone wanting to be on a cheer squad or dance team -- now or in the future! Open to ages 1st - 12th grade.

Extensions

This class is designed to improve a dancer’s range of motion, enhance muscle flexibility, heighten a dancer’s balance and increase their level of core muscle strength and overall control. Through a variety of stretches and strengthening exercises, dancers will also increase their awareness of their own body’s potential as it connects to expression through movement. 

Progression & Combos

Learn new progressions and combinations weekly in all styles of dance in this convention style class. This class will focus on picking up choreography quickly and introducing dancers to different styles of movement and dance. It is perfect for those students who see themselves continuing on in their dance education either through competitive dance, dance team or commercial dance opportunities!

PBT

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.  Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists and focuses on the use of muscle memory to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.
