Classes

Extensions (I, II, III)

This class is designed to improve a dancer’s range of motion, enhance muscle flexibility, heighten a dancer’s balance and increase their level of core muscle strength and overall control. Through a variety of stretches and strengthening exercises, dancers will also increase their awareness of their own body’s potential as it connects to expression through movement. 

Leaps & Turns Class

Dance Team Prep

Excited to start prepping for your high school dance team? This 1 hour class is for students in 6th grade and up and is designed to focus on jazz technique as well as to enhance sharp and clean movements on your leaps and turns.  In addition, you will learn pom, hip hop and proper kick line technique to prepare you for that upcoming dance team audition! 

Tutu Cuties

(2 year olds – 1 recital dance)

Designed for that two year old toddler in your life that is looking to be a ballerina or just looking for a place to meet some fun friends. This beginning ballet class is 30 minutes long and focuses on learning basic ballet technique, as well as improving gross motor skills. And our little Tutu Cuties will participate in our spring recital for with one routine! Have your cameras ready!! 

Tiny Dancer

(ages 3 to 5)

Ready to start learning the dance basics?  Start with our introductory ballet and tap core class designed for three to five year olds. Dancers will learn basic terminology, beginning ballet/tap technique, and creative movement.  Our Tiny Dancers join us for two recital dances during our spring recital. 

Heels

Come learn to dance in heels all while getting a great workout! This class takes dance to another level! Learn how to improve your overall posture, build confidence, mature in movement while learning how to engage different muscles while dancing in heels. This is the perfect class for any dancer looking to dance professionally in the commercial industry or just for FUN! 

*Studio approval required before enrollment

Progressions and Combinations

Learn new progressions and combinations weekly in all styles of dance in this convention style class. This class will focus on picking up choreography quickly and introducing dancers to different styles of movement and dance. It is perfect for those students who see themselves continuing on in their dance education either through competitive dance, dance team or commercial dance opportunities!

Technique

Dancers will work on mastering strength, flexibility, and accuracy on a variety of different technical skills. This will include drills and floor stretches to strengthen the dancer’s overall technique. This class is all about building your dance foundation based on the fundamental of mastering proper technique. 

Tiny Tumblers

(age 2)

An introduction for two year olds to the fundamentals of tumbling. In this class, our Tiny Tumblers will learn how to work their bodies to control their flexibility and stability.  Tiny Tumblers will focus on straddle rolls, front rolls, bridges, and so much more! Our Tiny Tumblers class is a great way to get out and meet new friends and pairs well with our TuTu Cute Dancers Course.

Theraband

With the physical demands required of dancers today, conditioning and injury-prevention are more important than ever. Theraband conditioning is a great way for dancers to challenge, strengthen and build upon their training—safely.  Whether you’re looking for an added boost of strength or stability, these series of exercises for toes, feet and ankles, as well as lateral and vertical control, will help you reach your goals.

Leaps and Turns 

Leaps and Turns is a technique class designed to improve the overall ability of the student in all forms of dance. Students will work to increase extension, flexibility, turns with more precision and mastering various types of leaps. Leaps and Turns is a skill building class that assist students with more refined form and technical perspective.

Improv

Dance improvisation is the process of spontaneously creating movement. In this class, dancers will learn to develop the ability to improvise movement through a variety of creative explorations including body mapping through levels, shape and dynamics schema.  That means, the instructor is not telling you exactly what to do but the dancers come up with it on their own through a guided but not choreographed process. 

Technique Series Workshop

Have fun with an intense series workshop that focuses on a new fundamentals each week.  Learn how to improve your posture, turns, lines, sharpness, finesse from head to toes by incorporating techniques from multiple disciplines. Designed for all ability levels, these 90-minute workshops are designed to challenge dancers in a fun and creative environment while developing dance fundamentals, reinforcing performance concepts and perfecting technique.​

Core Combination Class

Dance instruction focuses on mastering combinations and vocabulary of basic ballet, jazz and tap steps. Dancers improve stamina, core skills, technique and rhythm. Instructors combine steps and combinations in ballet, jazz and tap, providing students with a strong foundation in basic dance moves, as well as improving their flexibility, coordination, balance and grace.

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.  Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists and focuses on the use of muscle memory to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.

Progressing Ballet Technique

(PBT) –Sub Junior 

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.  Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists and focuses on the use of muscle memory to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.  Designed for Ages 5-7.

Progressing Ballet Technique

(PBT) — Junior 

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.  Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists and focuses on the use of muscle memory to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.  Designed for Ages 7-10.

(PBT) –Senior
